Technical Services Manager
Location: Cardiff, London, Brighton
Role Overview: Oversee engineering operations at Legal and General sites, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational excellence. Manage reactive and planned maintenance (PPM) for critical systems (mechanical, electrical, public health services, building fabric) while maintaining luxury service standards akin to 5-star hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering operations, ensuring high service standards.
- Drive strategic goals and maintain luxury service levels.
- Manage PPM and reactive services for critical systems.
- Foster strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.
- Identify business opportunities and manage subcontractor relationships.
- Focus on health, safety, and training, creating a high-performance culture.
- Monitor performance metrics for timely and efficient service delivery.
- Act as the key technical resource, solving problems and improving service delivery.
Key Duties:
- Ensure smooth operation of all services while maintaining luxury standards.
- Manage compliance and audit readiness.
- Lead teams and ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
- Foster a collaborative environment to meet performance goals.
- Manage reactive calls and ensure swift resolution.
- Oversee subcontractor performance and quality.
- Provide training and development to team members.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in critical environments.
- Extensive knowledge of facilities maintenance (soft and hard services).
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Health and Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).
- Strong commercial and financial awareness.
- Excellent communication skills and IT literacy (FM Management Systems, MS Office).
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and building fabric repairs.
Essential Skills:
- Recognised electrical or mechanical qualifications.
- Proven track record in critical environments.
- Experience managing large teams and complex contracts.
- Health and Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH).
- Strong IT skills and commercial awareness.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous HV AP appointment.
- Electrical/Mechanical Apprenticeship, 18th Edition IEE, C&G 2391, or similar.
