ROLE: Shift Mechanical Engineer
SHIFT: Day shift - 0600 - 1800, Night Shift 18:00-0600 Week 1 - 4 nights, 3 off Week 2 - 3 days 1 off 3 nights Week 3 - 3 off, 4 days Week 4 - 7 off
LOCATION: Ellesmere Port

Role Responsibilities:

Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete all required paperwork.
Respond to reactive and emergency breakdowns, ensuring accurate documentation.
Assist other team members as directed by the Supervisor or Contract Manager.
Ensure all tasks are completed within contractual time scales.
Proactively support energy‑reduction initiatives on site.
Supervise visiting sub‑contractors, ensuring high standards and Health & Safety compliance.
Adopt a flexible attitude to support additional properties when required.
Complete all documentation accurately and on time.
Work safely, diligently, and in line with company policies and procedures.
Participate fully in training and appraisal activities.
Undertake additional duties in line with capability as required.

Required Qualifications:

City & Guilds Level II/III (or equivalent) in relevant mechanical disciplines.
Experience in maintenance, testing, and fault‑finding on a range of equipment including boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, batteries, and lighting systems.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
Proactive approach with strong customer‑care focus.
Good communication skills.
Ability to diagnose, anticipate, and repair faults.
Capable of completing essential paperwork accurately and promptly.
