Job Summary
Mitie is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-impact operational projects within our Facilities Management and Security Guarding divisions. This is a non-IT role focused on the mobilisation and transition of service contracts, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget.
You will lead the Mobilisation team and work closely with internal departments, operational leads, and clients to ensure smooth execution of service-based projects. The role is ideal for an experienced project manager from the FM or security industry, who understands the operational and compliance landscape and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Main Duties:

Lead end-to-end project delivery for FM and security service contracts, from mobilisation through to steady-state.

Establish and manage a robust project governance framework to ensure consistency, accountability, and performance tracking.

Ensure projects are aligned with Mitie's short- and long-term business goals.

Manage resource allocation across projects to ensure optimal use of internal and external teams.

Track overall project health, status of milestones, and delivery against timelines.

Manage and report on project risks, developing mitigation strategies and ensuring compliance with client and legal requirements.

Oversee and maintain project budgets, cost tracking and reporting in line with client and internal financial controls.

Work cross-functionally with departments including operations, HR, compliance, and commercial to ensure seamless project execution.

Provide leadership and support to the Mobilisation team, managing daily activities and mentoring team members.

Draft and continuously improve internal project management policies and mobilisation processes.

Lead post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and best practices for future mobilisations.

Ensure accurate documentation and progress tracking across all assigned projects.

Maintain high standards of service delivery, health and safety, and statutory compliance (e.g. CDM regulations).

Present clear, concise updates and reports to senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
Person specifications:
Essential:

Demonstrable experience delivering complex mobilisation projects or multi-site transitions.

Strong leadership, influencing and communication skills.

Excellent organisational and planning ability, with a track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.

Understanding of relevant statutory regulations including CDM and health & safety standards.

Ability to simplify complex project information for diverse stakeholders.

Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.

Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable:

Project Management qualification (e.g. PMP, Prince2).

Experience working in a contract-led, client-facing environment.

Knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office 365, and project tracking systems.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Facilities Management, or related field
