Job Purpose:
To maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and property by patrolling, monitoring premises, managing access control, and responding to incidents and emergencies in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:

Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to ensure security of premises, doors, windows, and gates.

Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and other security equipment.

Control access to buildings and sites, ensuring only authorised personnel are permitted entry.

Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, or emergencies.

Write detailed incident and shift reports and maintain accurate security records.

Deter criminal or anti-social behaviour through visible presence and effective communication.

Liaise with emergency services when required, including police, fire, and ambulance.

Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and site-specific protocols.

Provide customer service to staff, contractors, and visitors as required.

Attend regular training and briefings to maintain compliance with site and legal standards.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor)

Good verbal and written communication skills

Strong observational skills and attention to detail

Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies

Basic computer literacy (for CCTV, incident logs, email)

Good physical fitness (able to stand/walk for long periods)
Desirable:

First Aid certification
-
Fire marshal or evacuation training
-
Previous experience in a similar role
-
Knowledge of Health & Safety and Data Protection regulations
