Job Title: Relief Security Officer (Multiple Sites across Essex)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Relief Security Officer to join our Local Government client, providing a corporate security service across various sites and environments across Essex giving the successful candidate the opportunity to work in a variety of settings. Job Overview:

As a Relief Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting our customer's property, people, and assets by providing security services in accordance with the site's Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes. By delivering outstanding results aligned with Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements, you will play a crucial role in retaining the contract. Your role also involves continuous self-development through additional training. Working  environments will include but not be limited too Libraries, Park and Ride facilities, Head quarters in Chelmsford. on any site located across the length and breath of Essex. 

Main Duties:

Operations:

- Ensure compliance with all aspects of policies, legal requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager, and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.

- Complete tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).

- Review and familiarise yourself with changes to the Assignment Instructions, and recommend amendments to improve or enhance the current level of service.

- Obtain and wear a front-line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision, as required by Industry and Statutory Legislation. 

- Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements, adhering to instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority.

- Work systematically, methodically and in an orderly manner to achieve key objectives.

 

Training:

- Complete all competency training requirements and undertake additional training for continuous self-development, as directed by the Security Account Manager.

- Utilise technology to develop job knowledge and expertise through continuous professional development.

- Ensure your licence is renewed 16 weeks before expiry.

 

Security and Health & Safety:

- Report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site, ensuring swift investigation and rectification.

- Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.

- Use common sense, initiative and involve others if a situation appears threatening.

- Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.

- Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries for any incidents to contribute to the Incident Report process.

- Adhere to schedules, demonstrate commitment to our client and ensure check calls are conducted as per Assignment Instructions (AI's).

- Call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Previous security experience.
  • Driving licence and own transport
  • High standards of customer service
  • Possession of a valid SIA licence (SG or DS)
  • Ability to be a sole Officer on site or able to work as part of a team
