PLEASE NOTE: This role requires DV clearance. The candidate will have to be a UK citizen with 10 year's work history in the UK. The clearance can take up to 12 months to complete before the candidate is able to start.

Position Overview:

This is a shift-working position based in Bristol. Successful candidates may also need to provide occasional support at our Gloucester premises (transport will be provided, or any costs reimbursed). You will be part of a team providing security services, including maintaining site security and integrity, patrolling, monitoring CCTV, and managing visitors' access. Successful candidates will need to undergo extended security (DV) clearance prior to employment.

Responsibilities:

• Control access to the site/building, permitting only authorised personnel.
• Use the Access Control System and CCTV to monitor/manage activity on site and in the immediate vicinity.
• Perform internal and external patrols of the site and building.
• Perform daily checks of alarm systems and system health.
• Monitor and respond to on-site alarm systems.
• Escalate issues as necessary to the MDL Service Desk.
• Provide cover for other members of the security team as required.
• Perform random entry and exit searches.
• Deter and detect unauthorised entry to the site.
• Detect and deter any damage/vandalism and report as necessary.
• Deal with suspect packages in accordance with agreed procedures, where necessary.
• Undertake any other ad-hoc tasks/responsibilities as directed/required by line management.
• Be flexible and adaptive to providing cover/support for absent colleagues.

What We Are Looking For:

• Previous experience in the security field is useful but not essential.
• SIA Licence holder and CCTV trained.
• Good communication skills.
• IT literate.
• Customer-focused approach.
