Job Overview

Forest Group is a specialist refrigeration engineering business within Mitie Technical Services, delivering maintenance and installation across retail and hospitality environments. As part of Mitie, Forest strengthens our technical self-delivery capability and supports growth in strategic FM contracts, particularly in the retail sector.

The business is entering a growth-focused phase, supported by investment and an active acquisition strategy. We are now seeking a high-impact Sales Director to accelerate this growth and build a scalable national sales capability.

Role Purpose

To drive significant revenue growth (£1m–£3m net new) through new business and account expansion, while establishing a modern, structured, and high-performing sales function aligned to Mitie's broader growth strategy.

 

Key responsibilities

Revenue Growth & New Business

  • Lead national sales activity, targeting £100k–£300k contract opportunities
  • Develop new business across key sectors, with a focus on retail and food environments
  • Identify and convert strategic opportunities aligned to Mitie's wider client base

Account Development

  • Grow existing relationships through cross-sell and upsell opportunities
  • Leverage internal channels (including Mitie accounts) to unlock additional revenue

Sales Function Build

  • Develop and execute a clear sales strategy and pipeline
  • Own end-to-end sales process including proposals, pricing, and commercial structuring
  • Build and lead a scalable sales capability aligned to future growth

Commercial Leadership

  • Increase pace, agility, and commercial focus within the business
  • Introduce best practice in sales execution, forecasting, and performance tracking

Strategic Growth

  • Contribute to wider growth initiatives, including M&A and regional expansion
  • Support development of new service propositions, including digital and tech-enabled solutions

Client Engagement

  • Maintain a strong external presence through regular client engagement
  • Operate as a visible market leader for Forest Group services

 

What we are looking for

Experience & Capability

  • Proven track record of winning new business (“hunter” profile) in technical or FM-related services
  • Strong deal-closing capability across mid-value contracts (£100k+)
  • Experience building or scaling a sales function or capability
