Religious Affairs Manager (75151)

Dungavel IRC are looking to employ a Religious Affairs Manager, to manage the delivery of a comprehensive programme of worship and teaching opportunities for all faiths in line with contractual requirements, company and Home Office standards and detainee needs.

You will provide advice, coaching and support to staff in order to maximise the efficient and effective provision of religious affairs.

 

This is a specialist position requiring appropriate qualifications and experience of organising and leading religious services and a multifaith team.

 

The position is 40 hours p/w with a salary of £35,309.67

 

As the Religious Affair Manager, you will coordinate and contribute to a comprehensive programme of religious activities, ensuring support by various faiths to meet the detainees' needs and contractual requirements.

 

Your Duties will include and not be limited to:

 

· Manage the provision of worship and teaching opportunities in all faiths, including all necessary arrangements or protocols for emergency contact, ensuring detainees' needs and contractual requirements are met.

· Develop and maintain links with outside faith communities so the support provided within the Centre is current, in line with best practice and caters for all faiths.

· Manage the provision of muti faith and dedicated faith areas ensuring an appropriate environment is provided.

· Coach and support staff development to maximise staff performance, motivation and contribution.

· Manage and monitor staff to ensure contractual obligations and company standards are met at all times.

· Manage the maintenance of a stock of appropriate religious literature and artefacts to allow detainees to fully discharge their commitment to their faith.

 

What we are looking for

· Be a UK citizen, Citizen of the Commonwealth with your own indefinite leave to remain (not through marriage) or EEA citizen.

· Have a valid and in date passport, with no restrictions on your stay in the UK. Please note Visa's in out-of-date passports cannot be accepted as proof of Right to Work in the UK. A Biometric card alongside a current in- date passport must be provided.

· Have continuously resided in the UK for the past 3 years. (No trips overseas longer than three months)

· Applicants must not have spent more than 3 months at any one time overseas during the previous 5 years.

· This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and Applicants must be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, complete employer referencing for the previous 5 years and vetting to the level of Counter Terrorist Checked (CTC) if offered a role.

· Not currently bankrupt.
