We're looking for a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Major Projects team and support the successful delivery of high-value infrastructure projects across the UK.
Whether your experience comes from power, utilities, civil engineering, rail, highways, water, M&E or the wider construction sector, this is an exciting opportunity to develop your commercial career in a business operating at the forefront of the energy transition.
Working within a hybrid environment, you'll be part of a collaborative team supporting project delivery from pre-construction through to final account, gaining exposure to complex projects, experienced commercial professionals and major UK infrastructure programmes.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of major projects throughout their lifecycle, helping to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Planners, clients and supply chain partners to manage costs, administer contracts, support change management and maintain strong commercial controls.

Main Duties

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management
- Support the commercial management of major infrastructure projects and work packages.
- Prepare and update project cost reports, forecasts and cost plans.
- Assist in the production of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Support the delivery of project margin and cash collection targets.
Contract Administration
- Assist with the administration of NEC, JCT, FIDIC and other forms of contract.
- Support change management processes including compensation events, variations and change control.
- Prepare contractual correspondence and notices where required.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of client applications for payment.
- Support the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
Supply Chain Management
- Support subcontractor procurement activities including tender enquiries and evaluations.
- Assist with the preparation and administration of subcontract agreements.
- Measure and value subcontract works.
- Review subcontractor applications, variations and final accounts.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Project Delivery Support
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure robust commercial controls are maintained.
- Attend project review meetings, site meetings and client meetings.
- Assist in maintaining project records to support contractual entitlement.
- Contribute to risk management and commercial performance reviews.
- Support compliance with company governance and commercial procedures.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience in a Quantity Surveyor, Assistant Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role within construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities or energy sectors.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of cost management principles.
- Experience supporting subcontractor management and procurement activities.
- Good contractual awareness and understanding of standard forms of contract.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to project locations as required.
Desirable
- Experience working under NEC, JCT, FIDIC or similar forms of contract.
- Experience within infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy, power or civil engineering projects.
- Knowledge of High Voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure, substations, cable installation or battery energy storage systems (BESS).
- Working towards or holding professional membership with RICS, CIOB, ICES, CICES or another relevant professional institution.
- Relevant Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction or Engineering qualification.
