Job Overview

    • To oversee the delivery of projects for MTFM ES on the GSK contract based at Barnard Castle but also covering all Northern GSK locations in a profitable and creditable way, whilst endeavouring to exceed customer expectations.
    • To actively and pro-activley develop and maintain the internal project pipeline.
    • Develop and maintain a strong core of subcontractors delivering agreed MFA targets
    • Ensure that Mitie are the principal contractor for the majority of contracts, managing multiple contractors to deliver projects
    • Oversee & manage the WIP and invoicing for all Projects delivering to company WiP profiles
    • Consistently deliver the Project Team budget and objectives
    • The ability to improve further sales opportunities by direct liaison with client teams.
    • To ensure all processes and procedures are followed, assisting Project Managers as and when required.
    • To keep close professional contact with clients to be able to monitor customer satisfaction.
    • To ensure the company Health & Safety policy is adhered to.
    • To ensure compliance with the MITIE Quality Management System and be instrumental in leading and implementing the procedures and instructions with particular attention to the areas of responsibility indicated in the document.
    • Develop the team in terms of overall capabilities in all aspects of project delivery, QHSE, Commercials.
    • Identify and develop a succession plan for the role
    • Support regular meetings with Regional Directors to review performace and pipeline in the Manchester Office.
    • Support regular reviews and site vistis with the team members and Clients in the North West, North East & Mildands areas.

     

 

Main Duties

    • Ensure that operational and financial objectives are consistently achieved
    • The ability to develop and maintain strong sustainable work pipelines internally but also external to client base
    • Following established project process and procedure at all times
    • Provide support and guidance for Project Managers
    • Build and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
    • Attendance on HR related courses to ensure competence in dealing with people management responsibilities
    • Authorising orders and ensuring sub contractors are managed safely and efficiently.
    • Ensure effective delivery of any electrical, mechanical, building fabric or any other associated project works.
    • Liaise with client representatives and Contract Managers, to ensure that all works are completed within agreed timescales.
    • High volume of travel required to support all areas of the North & Mildands Regions. Overnight bookings may also need to be supported for efficiency and to maximise planned visits.
    • Undertake, where necessary, site safety, method statements, risk assessments and site inspections in line with MITIE Procedures.
    • To raise purchase orders, in line with company procedures, where applicable
    • Understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
    • Understand and comply with policies and procedures
    • To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner at all times
    • To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
    • To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required for Head of Projects role
    To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required

 

What we are looking for

  • Graduate calibre ( or appropriate time served track record )
  • Professional Qualifications
  • Demonstrate a background of business development generally but specifically around HVAC / Fabric projects
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Project Management.
  • Strong Client and Customer focus
  • Evidence of performance management
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience of contract and facilities management.
  • Able to demonstrate a good level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Evidence of a proven track record of achievement.
  • Demonstrates the experience of coordinating and supervising FM and Soft Services.
  • Able to work out of hours to support service delivery needs as necessary.
