Job objectives and responsibilities |
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Manager to lead the implementation of a strategic asset management initiative. This role is critical in ensuring that all repair and remedial works are accurately linked to the relevant assets and that asset condition data is consistently updated by both direct and indirect technicians. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between functional departments, operations, and the asset management teams to drive compliance, data integrity, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership:
Lead the end-to-end implementation of the asset management strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and timelines. - Asset Data Integration:
Ensure all repair and remedial activities are correctly linked to asset records in the asset management system. - Condition Monitoring:
Develop and enforce processes to ensure technicians update asset condition data every time an asset is worked on. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with functional departments, operations teams, and asset management personnel to ensure seamless communication and adoption of new processes. - Training & Compliance:
Support the development and delivery of training for technicians and supervisors on asset data entry and condition reporting. - Performance Monitoring:
Track project milestones, KPIs, and compliance metrics; report progress to senior leadership. - Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance asset lifecycle management and data accuracy through feedback and analytics.
Education & Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in Engineering, Asset Management, Project Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- Proven experience in managing and delivering asset management or maintenance-related projects.
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and drive compliance across technical teams.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, and IT.
- Familiarity with asset management systems (e.g., CMMS, EAM) and condition monitoring practices.

- Strong project planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on data integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.

Desirable Criteria
- Experience in a regulated or asset-intensive industry (e.g., utilities, transport, facilities management).
- Recognised Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, APM).
- Knowledge of ISO 55000 or other asset management frameworks.
- Experience in training or coaching technical teams on systems and processes.
- Understanding of digital transformation in asset management.
