Role Overview:
As a vital member of the Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) Senior Leadership Team, you will champion people strategies that align seamlessly with Mitie's and the Technical Services' (TS) divisional ambitions. Your leadership will help cultivate a high-performance, engaged culture within a complex, mission-critical environment, supporting teams in remote, high-security locations such as nuclear sites and police custody suites. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in vital sectors while driving organisational growth and cultural excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the senior leadership team as a strategic HR advisor to align people priorities with business goals, ensuring our culture supports operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with the TS People team to deliver the TS People agenda, embedding best practices and innovative solutions.
- Develop creative recruitment strategies tailored to remote and secure sites, attracting and developing industry-leading engineering talent. Be a passionate advocate for inclusive recruitment practices.
- Coach senior leaders to foster a unified, high-performing culture that delivers against the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- Lead change management initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance organisational effectiveness.
- Utilise data insights and analytics to inform people strategies and drive evidence-based decision making.
- Lead key projects across reward, talent management, performance, engagement, and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI).
- Maintain strong relationships with unions and support social value initiatives that benefit local communities and stakeholders.
- Manage and develop Contract HR Managers, fostering a culture of excellence and growth.
- Collaborate with OneHR and sector leadership teams to deliver impactful, people-centric solutions aligned with organisational goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven HR leadership experience within complex, dynamic environments, ideally within critical national infrastructure or security-sensitive sectors.
- Strong experience in generalist HR activities along with comms and engagement
- Broad expertise across all HR disciplines including talent development, Employee Relations, change management, and reward.
- Strong commercial acumen, influencing skills, and analytical capability.
- Experience supporting business growth, bid development, and strategic workforce planning.
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- CIPD Level 7 qualification (preferred), with willingness to travel and a clean driving licence.
