Role Overview:
The North Cluster Support Manager supports the Cluster Manager in delivering high-quality janitorial services across the cluster. The role involves operational oversight, team management, client engagement, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- You'll need a solid understanding of cleaning operations, waste management, and forklift activities. You'll become familiar with the site layout, fit-out, and operating hours to design and adapt cleaning schedules that meet the needs of the business.
- You'll be responsible for managing staff rotas to ensure consistent coverage within budget, and for processing payroll for both direct and agency staff in line with company procedures. A key part of your role will be promoting a strong safety culture - proactively identifying hazards, applying lessons learned, and ensuring compliance with risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH regulations.
- Maintaining high cleaning standards is essential. You'll work closely with the client to carry out weekly audits, respond to any issues promptly, and continuously look for ways to improve service delivery. This includes managing stock levels, ensuring equipment is clean and safe, and identifying efficiencies through innovation and negotiation with staff, suppliers, and customers.
- People management is central to the role. You'll support staff training and development, manage performance through regular feedback and formal processes when needed, and help build a succession plan for supervisory and management roles. You'll also lead recruitment efforts, ensuring agency staff are transferred to permanent roles in a timely manner and that all vetting requirements are met.
- You'll be the main point of contact for any site-related issues, including complaints and feedback. Promoting employee engagement through site-level initiatives will also be part of your remit.
- Professional presentation is important, including wearing appropriate PPE such as safety shoes and high-visibility clothing.
- You'll also be expected to take on any other duties within your capability as required by the business.
