Job Overview

Multi-skilled Joiner 

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic tradespeople to joint our site team.

Our Multi Skilled Technicians provide delivery of facilities support services for our client. The role will be responsible for carrying out a range of general / fabric maintenance and business support tasks. They will report to the Site Management team, Supervisors and assist the team as required in the delivery of reactive, planned and ad hoc maintenance tasks.

Suitable training and up-skilling - May be given, as and when required, to achieve competency and the ability to perform the following (as detailed in responsibilities).

Working hours – Working hours are 07:15 to 17:15, Monday to Thursday. 39 Hours per week. Potential overtime will be offered when required on an ad-hoc basis.

 

Main Duties

  • Weekly & monthly planned and re-active maintenance works 
  • First line response to reactive repairs.
  • Building fabric repairs, including experience of kitchen and door fitting.
  • Minor decorating tasks.
  • Minor plumbing repairs.
  • Ad hoc porterage duties (Moves & changes, furniture management & moves, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned work orders.
  • Comply fully with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
  • Completion of documentation as required, including adherance to all associated permits.
  • To assist all trades within the team and through the correct training be able to complete tasks away from your core skills.
  • Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner
  • Proactively carry out tasks, reporting any maintenance or H&S issues to the site management team.

Health & Safety:

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures, at all times.
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety, or the environment.
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager/Supervisor.
  • Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety matters.
  • Follow guidance of the site management team, working alongside the site supervisors and works-coordinator 

 

What we are looking for

  • Experience of building maintenance and joinery works 
  • Relevant qualification in Carpentry and Joinery
  • Hold CSCS or NPORS health and safety qualifications  
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment.
  • Have a proactive approach to maintenance and building management.
  • Confident, driven and pro-active.
  • Able to do the job right and do it right first time, within a pre-determined timescale.
  • Willingness to undertake further training.
  • Following risk and method statements as required on a daily basis.
  • Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
  • Good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance.
  • Must hold a full UK driver's license.
  • Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer based systems.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
  • Experience of working within a customer focused environment.
  • Wanting to achieve success, for his or her self, the business and the customer.
  • Flexible approach to work and working hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive).
  • Presented in a clean and tidy manner to represent the company, in the most professional manner possible, utilising the uniform and PPE issued.
  • Responsible for self and others to maintain a safe working environment as per the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent UK and EU amendments.
  • HSE management in accordance with our Quality Management System and all legal and statutory requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the client, ensuring they are made aware of work progress in a timely manner.
