Job objectives and responsibilities
To undertake the planned maintenance and repair of the Mechanical equipment, of building(s) as required under contract.
To carry out reactive tasks within SLA's/KPI's
This role is based in and around the Edinburgh area covering a variety of properties such as offices and schools and care homes
An Electric Van is provided as part of this role
May be a requirement to be part of an out of hours on call rota
Security Vetting will be required
Main duties
To undertake mechanical repairs, maintenance tasks and minor installations of mechanical equipment.
To undertake planned maintenance activities and repairs to HVAC equipment including but not limited to minor plumbing tasks, pumps, motors etc
Experience working with pipework, air handling units & filters
Able to diagnose and repair simple and complex issues on various building systems.
Ability to produce permit to work/risk assessments as required
Identify and action any faults/remedial works inconjunction with the Helpdesk
Use handheld technology effectively to carry out all tasks
Assist other team members when required or as directed from Service Delivery Manager/Service Desk
Ensure that all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales.
Working with visiting sub-contractors with regards to standard of work and Health and Safety
Adopt a flexible attitude in relation to assisting on other properties within the portfolio.
All duties carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time, including but not limited to purchase card receipts, timesheets and mileage returns
To forge and maintain excellent customer relations with on site clients at all times
To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
Be available to carry out necessary works outside normal hours with additional remuneration.
Person Specification
Qualified to City & Guilds Level or equivalent in relevant disciplines to role
Mechanical Experience – working in commercial environments
Experience of maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of equipment
Including, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators,
Batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable)
Able to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults
Capable of completing essential paperwork in accurate and timely manner.
