Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 2 off, 3 Nights on, 2 off, 3 Days on, 2 off, 4 Nights on, 8 off (shifts are Days 07:00-19:00 & Nights 19:00-07:00). This works out a 42 hour average working week.
Job Overview
Mitie are recruiting for an Energy Centre Plant Maintenance Engineer to join the Projects team working in London. Reporting into Energy Centre Engineering Supervisor and the Technical Manager, you will be required to carry out planned preventative maintenance on the systems of our client's energy centre in North West London.
Working as part of the Engineering Team, you will support daily engineering issues on a specific asset providing support and guidance. You will be responsible for providing engineering support to outage events, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Plant Engineer will work closely with the Commercial, Operations, Inspection, QHSE, Performance and Maintenance functions to support the overall asset plan, and ensure compliance, governance and best practice is adhered to at all times.
Main Duties
Positively encourage a culture of safety first. “Walk the talk”, adopt and adhere to HSE and QHSE Policies, Procedures and Objectives and become an expert with regards to the mechanical integrity associated with the specific asset area, including pipework, rotating machines, valves, conveyers, boilers and relief streams. Ensure all Quality Management and Compliance Documentation for Planned Preventative maintenance and reactive repair activities is accurate and complete.
What we are looking for- The ideal candidate will be well presented, wearing company uniform at all times, organised and polite. This is a client & customer facing role, with excellent communication and customer service skills. You will be required to actively take part in the callout / standby rota. A full UK driving licence and a flexible approach to working practices is essential and excellent knowledge of PSSR Legislation. Experience of engineering and equipment maintenance in the plant area or similar operation and mechanical Biased with Electrical knowledge in a similar environment
The following Skills and Expertise will be advantageous:
Served a recognised apprenticeship and/or be qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ level 2 in Plumbing/HVAC with Electrical qualifications and registered to the appropriate body as required for the role, experience working within Energy Centres and repairing various components, marine engineer plant maintenance operator experience, electrical qualification to the latest Edition of BS 7671 that allows you to work safely on single or 3-phase electrical systems and hot Water Systems or valid unvented hot water certification.
