An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical & Electrical engineer to join Mitie working on the MoD's FDIS contract in South West Scotland. The successful candidate will join a small team of engineers responsible for implementing and operating MoD's Safety System of Work in accordance with their handbook JSP375. The following disciplines are covered ;
- Electrical (HV, LV, Haz Areas)
- Mechanical (Pressure Systems)
- Working at Height
- Petroleum
- Confined Spaces
Particular emphasis is focused on Electrical and Mechanical disciplines so previous experience and education in either or both fields would be beneficial as would experience of operating similar safe systems or permit to work systems. Proficiency with MS Office software is also desirable.
The role will be mobile with the main base being at DM Beith, Ayrshire and will cover sites in South West Scotland from as far North as Arrochar down to the Borders.
Discipline specific training (to JSP375) will be given to the new starter.
The new starter will require to undertake Security Clearance to SC level and also participate in an on-call rota.
A company car will be provided for the role. In accordance with Mitie's undertaking to reduce carbon emissions, the car will be an EV type.
