Maintenace Engineer - Mechanical Bias (79020)

Role Overview:
We are looking to appoint an experienced multi-skilled engineer with a mechanical and/r electrical bias to join our growing engineering team. You will be responsible for the delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance services across a broad range of mechanical and electrical building systems within commercial and industrial environments. This includes, but is not limited to, HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, lighting, BMS controls, and associated infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with industry standards and contractual obligations.
- Participate in shift rotations and provide out-of-hours support, including weekends, to ensure continuous site operations.
- Operate within the Permit to Work system and adhere to all relevant health and safety protocols.
- Utilise CAFM systems and handheld devices for task management and reporting.
- Monitor and report on the performance of subcontractors, ensuring service quality and compliance.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives and contribute to the implementation of best practices in plant operation.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- HND, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum of five years' experience in mechanical building services, with a sound understanding of electrical systems.
- IOSH Passport or CSCS Card.
- (Desirable) Prior appointment as an Authorised Person (AP) or Competent Person (CP) in disciplines such as pressure systems, confined spaces, or working at height.
- Familiarity with Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and proficiency in IT systems.
Performance Expectations:
You will be expected to complete all works in a timely and professional manner and in full accordance with health and safety legislation and site-specific policies. You are required to accurately and comprehensively report data through digital systems, specifically PDAs and CAFM systems. You will be engaging communicating with a variety of clients and internal and external stakeholders so it is vital you provide positive engagement through strong customer service. You will have a natural ability for problem-solving and troubleshooting, demonstrating initiative and the ability to think fast on your feet.
Additional Information:
The role may require travel to other sites within the local and wider estate.
Flexibility is essential to support operational needs and training requirements.
