Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Operative. This position calls for an organised team player, committed to achieving the highest standard of work within a busy corporate environment.
You will be responsible for coordinating delivery and collection of parcels, packages, goods and other miscellaneous items to and from multiple site locations, including recording such items for future use, disposal and/or safe storage training to be provided. The Logistics Operative will liaise with external providers as needed, demonstrating and managing the safe operation of forklift trucks, electric reach trucks and hand operated pallet trucks, flatbed trucks, tail-lift vehicles.
The Logistics Operative must be able to handle lifting and carrying large items following manual handling policies and use x-ray machines and manage the safe process for all logistic related tasks. You will conduct all tasks in a safe, secure and clean manner, ensuring that contract and site rules are adhered to at all times.
Other duties include:
Conduct general house-keeping tasks including upkeep of the contract's facilities, stores, meeting room checks, yards and buildings
Support the onsite Workplace team e.g. FM projects, moving of furniture etc.
Communicate with customers face-to-face, over the phone and/or by email to ensure a professional and polite service delivery.
Attend training updates as required to meet compliance requirements.
Carry out adhoc tasks that fall outside of the tasks mentioned in this job description when required.
Cross training to be carried out to be able to cover our other sites at Hedge End and Swanwick.
Forklift license is desirable.
What we are looking for:
Understanding of the facilities services industry would be advantageous and have a proven track record in a logistics customer facing environment.
An appreciation of health and safety in the workplace would be a significant advantage.
They will be able to display an ability to communicate to staff, colleagues and customers at all levels, One team ethos.
The candidate will be adaptable and flexible and have a customer-focused approach to work.
The successful candidate must hold a full, clean UK driving license and must be able to gain and maintain full SC security clearance.
