We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Support Technician to join our team supporting laboratory operations within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across laboratory operations, instrumentation, and maintenance, while working as part of a high-performing support team delivering critical services.
You will play a key role in ensuring laboratories run safely, efficiently, and compliantly, supporting both technical laboratory services (TLS) and laboratory instrument support (LIS) activities.
What You'll Be Doing
🔹 Laboratory Support
- Support day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure smooth workflow
- Manage laboratory consumables, including stock control, ordering, and replenishment
- Carry out glassware cleaning, sample disposal, cryogenic refills (e.g. liquid nitrogen) and Solution prep
- Maintain clean, organised workspaces in line with 5S standards
🔹 Maintenance & Technical Support
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks
- Support maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment including:
- HPLC systems
- Hydrogen Gas generators
- Water systems
- Balance checks
- Help ensure equipment uptime and minimise disruption to laboratory operations
🔹 Waste & Safety
- Safely manage and dispose of laboratory waste, including chemical and solvent waste
- Follow all COSHH, environmental, and health & safety procedures
- Identify and report hazards to support a strong safety culture
🔹 Contractor Coordination
- Support on-site contractors and compliance requirements are met
- Assist with coordinating maintenance visits and site access
🔹 Quality & Compliance
- Work in accordance with GxP, GMP, and data integrity (ALCOA+) standards
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Support audit readiness and compliance activities
What We're Looking For
✅ Essential
- Degree in a science-related subject or relevant laboratory experience
- Experience working in a laboratory or regulated (GxP) environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
✅ Desirable
- Experience with HPLC or analytical laboratory equipment
- Experience supporting maintenance or PPM activities
- Understanding of GMP, COSHH, or data integrity principles
- Experience working with contractors or service providers
