Job Overview
Millisike is looking for an experienced HR professional to partner the onsite management team. As a HR Manager, you will work closely with the SLT and line managers across Millsike, supporting the full employee lifecycle, drive HR initiatives, and ensure alignment between business objectives and HR strategies. You will manage the day-to-day delivery of the People team at HMP Millsike, with line management responsibility for Recruitment and Vetting Administrators. You will have responsibility for maintaining the annual resourcing plan, analysing attrition data and recruitment forecasting. Oversee high volume recruitment for operational roles, management of Assessment Centres and onboarding ensuring the candidate journey is delivered to a high standard. In addition to:
- Manage compliance, working with right to work teams.
- Build and maintain working relationships with Security Vetting teams. Monitor and review vetting levels to ensure compliance with HMPPS standards.
- In conjunction with the wider Mitie People team provide oversight and guidance on ER case management.
- Support and develop line mangers by training and coaching on internal Mitie HR processes.
- Be accountable for developing and nurturing talent and develop succession plans across HMP Millsike.
- Monitor and evaluate people data and management information to assist with compilation of monthly people reports to both internal and external stakeholders
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives across Millsike.
- Coach the management team to develop a culture with colleagues across functions supporting on mental health, occupational health, and employee welfare matters and initiatives.
- Enable employee engagement and communication with all employees to drive improvement of morale and engagement survey results, including action planning.
- Work with Wellbeing Manager to promote colleague wellbeing such as team building events, Health Promotion Days, community events and charity events.
- Develop and maintain communications and working relationships with key stakeholders across the Mitie Business
What we are looking for:
You will be an experienced HR professional at Advisory level or above, having worked in a generalist HR role. You will also have the ability to work within a high volume and fast paced business and re-prioritise regularly. As well as:
- CIPD level 5 qualified or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrate proficiency using a suite of M365 tools including MS Teams, Sharepoint and SAP.
- Resilient, with ability to influence key decision makers and challenge when necessary.
- Ability to drive the HR agenda with line managers.
- Team player and confidence to build relationships with the business and wider HR function.
- Confident and articulate communicator.
- Strong commitment to customer service; able to quickly establish credibility and build rapport and trust.
- Ability to deliver information to managers that may be difficult and challenging.
- Demonstrate understanding of the need for confidentiality.
- Previous line management experience would be advantageous.
- Ability to make own decisions and see them through to conclusion.
- Sound knowledge of employment law and best practice.
- Experience of managing high volume recruitment and Assessment Centres.
- Experience of multi-discipline organisations preferable.
- Ability to deliver HR training on a range of subjects to varying abilities.
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
