What are the day to day responsbilities?
You will initially support on the rollout of a new training academy within the sector working closely with our L&D team to test, encourage and drive the usage for all employees within the sector. Alongside this, you will proactively partner the Account Director and managers at all levels in providing pragmatic and commercially focussed HR solutions, including development and implementation of the account strategy and people plan across the contract. You will also:
- Support teams by training and coaching, for improvement with case management, recruitment, resource planning and onboarding, culture, and engagement strategies
- Manage compliance, working with right to work , health and safety and data teams
- Have ownership and Involvement in projects across the wider business
- Develop and maintain communications and working relationships with key stakeholders across the Mitie Business
- Be accountable for for developing and nurturing talent and develop succession plans across the contract
- Monitor and evaluate people data and management information to assist with compilation of monthly people reports
- Developing a culture with colleagues across functions supporting on mental health, occupational health, and employee welfare matters and initiatives.
- Coach managers to close complex employee relations cases
- Liaise with the Change Partnering team to track organisational design and development including TUPE and supporting with mobilisations of new sites, as required
- Work with the People Business Partner on change initiatives in relation to restructuring and new business
- Enable employee engagement and communication with all employees to drive improvement of morale and engagement survey results, including action planning.
What are we looking for?
You will be an experienced HR professional at Advisory level or above having worked on key L&D projects, Apprentice schemes or training academies within a large scale capacity. You will also have the ability to deal with high volume and fast paced Business and re-prioritise regularly. As well as:
- Preferably CIPD qualified or working towards .
- Computer literate; Microsoft suite, SAP, SharePoint.
- Resilient, with ability to influence key decision makers and challenge when necessary.
- Ability to drive the HR agenda with managers.
- Team player and confidence to build relationships with the business and wider HR function.
- Confident and articulate communicator.
- Strong commitment to customer service; able to quickly establish credibility and build rapport and trust.
- Ability to deliver information to managers that may be difficult and challenging.
- Demonstrate understanding of the need for confidentiality.
- Ability to make own decisions and see them through to conclusion.
- Sound knowledge of employment law and best practice.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to travel across the UK as required to meet the needs of the business.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
- Experience of multi-site, multi-discipline organisations preferable.
- Ability to deliver HR training on a range of subjects to varying abilities.
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- TUPE experience preferred but not essential.
