HR Employee Relations Advisor

We are growing our team of talented and solution focused Employee Relations specialists at Mitie and are committed to building a team of experts. Our ER Advisors's purpose is to support our managers to make Mitie a 'Great Place to Work' through advising and coaching managers in their management of ER cases, upholding fair and just policies in-line with legislation and best practice, whilst balancing risk and commerciality to deliver the best results for our business.
This is a hybrid role normally 1 day per week in the office based in Birmingham in which you'll join our dedicated People Team. Flexible working patterns can be explored as part of our commitment to the team and their work/life balance.
What can you expect?
You will have ownership of your own caseload of complex ER issues using your knowledge in ER and employment law whilst having the chance to utilise the latest technologies including Mitie's own case management system to remotely delivery a high-quality service. You'll be building relationships with the wider HR team and collaborating with senior stakeholders across the business. You'll also:
• Have exposure to a wide variety of contracts across many sectors, both public and private
• Opportunity to collaborate with experts in our legal team in the management of Early Conciliation and Employment Tribunal claims, and with our and Occupational Health providers
• Conduct ER policy and process reviews and make recommendations for improvement. and drive the implementation of improved services, policies, and procedures
What are we looking for?
We are looking for passionate HR/ER professionals who have a good level of knowledge of ER Policy, Employment Laws and can manage a varied case load. Mitie work within a HR Shared Service Centre ‘People Support' so experience working within this environment is desirable. You'll be a true people person with the ability to drive a strong positive experience with respect and confidentiality. As a curious thinker, you will be able to use different approaches to situations and help to coach and provide accurate ER advice to our managers. Ideally, you will hold a CIPD qualification at Levels 3,5 or 7 however, we can provide support through studies should you wish to further your training.
