ROLE: Electrical Maintenance Operative
HOURS: 40 Hours/Week
LOCATION: HMP Millsike

We're looking for an Electrical Maintenance Operative who will help support the exciting development of HMP Millsike, a brand‑new establishment focused on rehabilitation, restoration, and creating real opportunities for prisoners to unlock their full potential.
Role Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate will hold accreditation to the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) or suitable cross‑industry sector qualifications such as Level 3 Electrical Engineering, supporting maintenance across systems including Fire & Security and electro‑mechanical gate systems.
- Provide electrical maintenance services within a large and complex environment, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation of building systems.
- Use basic to intermediate IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) to update systems, record maintenance activity, and support operational processes.
- Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal ability, note‑taking accuracy, and the motivation to work proactively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Apply substantial practical knowledge across building services disciplines including heating, hot water, ventilation, refrigeration, environmental systems, electrical power and distribution, and public health.
Required Qualifications (applicants must meet the below requirements)
- Hold accreditation to 18th Edition (BS 7671) or equivalent Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualifications suitable for cross‑system maintenance.
- Have continuously resided in the UK for the past 3 years with no trips over three months.
- Hold a valid, in‑date passport with unrestricted Right to Work in the UK (visas in out‑of‑date passports cannot be accepted).
- Be prepared to undergo Enhanced DBS, five‑year employer referencing, and CTC vetting if offered the role.
- Must not be currently bankrupt.
