Prisoner Finance & Procurement Administrator
Salary: £27,500

Job objectives and responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Administrator to provide an effective and efficient financial administration service to the Prison.
You will handle all bank and cash transactions, producing daily reconciliations of Prisoner Fund accounts. Assisting with month-end reconciliations, you will ensure timely and accurate returns to the Finance Department (HQ). You will process invoices, travel, and subsistence claims efficiently. Additionally, you will prepare and process journals for prisoner transfers, daily and weekly reconciliations of personal cash, wages, and pin phone transactions. Conducting daily cash checks, you will ensure physical cash and account balances match the financial system, and investigate discrepancies. Ensuring all monies are banked promptly and securely, you will maintain the security of the cash office at all times. You will provide accurate and timely financial information, liaising with the company FBP. Creating and maintaining manual and computer records, you will ensure they are up-to-date and accessible. You will also support the wider administrative team to ensure the smooth running of the prison.
Person Specification
The candidate must have relevant previous experience in an administrative role handling sensitive and confidential information, including pay and cash. They should be a clear communicator with a good standard of verbal and written English. Intermediate or better IT skills are required, with proficiency and confidence in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Qualifications or accreditation to Level 2 or above are preferred, such as CSE grade 1, GCSE grades 9 to 4 (or A* to C), intermediate apprenticeship, or level 2 NVQ, Award, Certificate, or Diploma. Previous experience in a finance administrative support role is also desirable.
