We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic tradespeople to join our growing engineering family, working in a challenging and diverse role where no two days are the same. Our skilled engineers provide mobile delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.
In this role as a Fabric Engineer you will be responsible for undertaking all building fabric activities such as patch repairs, minor plumbing and carpentry, painting and decorating all to the highest level of service for the client.
You should be capable of working to high levels of health and safety and statutory requirements, ensure regular monitoring and inspection procedures are carried out for all equipment as part of the preventative maintenance programme.
You will be required to answer queries, report any defects and keep the client informed of site activities at the time of the service visit.
Be IT literate for record keeping, have good customer service skills, be physically able to carry out the fuller duties detailed in the job description.
You'll need to be highly self-motivated and solutions focussed with the ability to work without supervision but also enjoy working as part of a team.
The ideal candidate would have a background in facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- - Maintenance Tasks: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building fabric, including walls, ceilings, floors, doors, and windows, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- - Inspections: Assist in conducting regular inspections of the building fabric to identify defects or required repairs, reporting findings to the Fabric Supervisor.
- - Repairs: Carry out repairs and minor refurbishment work, such as patching walls, replacing damaged flooring, and fixing doors and windows.
- - Installation: Assist with the installation of new fabric components, including wall panels, flooring, and ceiling tiles, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- - Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and materials used, reporting regularly to the Fabric Supervisor.
- - Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies while performing all tasks, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- - Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Fabric Supervisor and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and high levels of customer service.
- - Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring stock levels of materials and supplies, notifying the Fabric Supervisor of any shortages or needs for replenishment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in building maintenance or facilities management is preferred.
- Knowledge of building fabric systems and general maintenance practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in building maintenance or a related field (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) are advantageous.
