Job Overview
Working within the Electrical (Maintenance) Team, you will be required to conduct planned/response maintenance and remedial works on various plant and systems including: Electrical Equipment and installations, Catering Equipment, Hazardous Areas Systems and Fire Alarms.
Mitie are sourcing a key role to support the Electrical (Maintenance) Team. The team currently carry out pre-planned maintenance and electrical installation taskings living, office and technical accommodation on the British Forces South Atlantic Islands (Falkland Islands) estate. The ideal candidate would have significant practical experience in building services industry or related disciplines, including a good understanding of installation work and test and inspection along with other key skills linked to successful maintenance and upgrading of the MOD estate. The candidate must have a valid and transferable car driving licence and be prepared to receive further training, support and development.
Main Duties
1. Undertake electrical installation and maintenance of low voltage systems including Electrical equipment and installations, Hazardous areas and Fire Alarms. Carry out Pre Planned maintenance tasks and reactive works on the MOD estate.
2. Work to electrical drawings e.g. installation, circuit diagrams and line schematics. Modify or update drawings as necessary to maintain an accurate record.
3. Produce a quality end product first time with no re-work required. Including advising management and client chain when to replace aged electrical equipment to prevent hazards.
4. Qualify for entry in Skilled Persons Register.
5. Organise work to minimise lost time, or non productive time.
6. Accurately record details of repairs on work dockets and complete labour records for time worked. Ensure overtime records are fully legible and submitted on time to the Supervisor.
7. Respond to emergency call outs as and when required.
8. Carry out any other duties as directed by your line manager, or Management team.

Qualified electrical (18th Edition) BS7671 qualified, City & Guilds, Requirements for Electrical Installations or equivalent · BS 2391 (or equivalent) Testing & Inspection of Electrical installations

- Electrical Qualifications
- CompEx Electrical CompEx EX01, EX02, EX03, EX04
- C&G (or equivalent) Certificate in Design, Installation, Commissioning and Certification of Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Systems.
- AP electrical
- Served recognised apprenticeship. · Experience of working abroad · Experience of an MOD environment
Knowledge & Experience

Experienced in all aspects of electrical installation and maintenance of low voltage systems.

Capable of working to and understanding Drawings i.e. Installation, Circuit Diagrams and Line Schematics.

Good working knowledge of H&S legislation
