Job Overview

  • Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programmes to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with EHS standards
  • Manage incident and accident investigations, ensuring timely reporting and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices into business operations
  • Monitor and evaluate the environmental performance of key suppliers and support the development of sustainable supply chains
  • Promote effective waste segregation and management practices to achieve maximum recycling and minimise contamination
  • Lead the development and implementation of Net Zero strategies and decarbonisation plans
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on EHS and sustainability best practices

Main Duties

  • Lead the integration of energy management and sustainability initiatives into facilities management operations, ensuring that best practices, technologies, and processes are consistently applied across all functions.
  • Collaborate with the Energy Managers to develop and implement energy and sustainability strategies and action plans in line with client objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective energy management and sustainability strategies, policies, and programmes to ensure the organisation and its clients achieve their energy reduction and sustainability goals.
  • Analyse energy consumption trends and data to identify opportunities for energy savings, cost reduction and carbon footprint reduction.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on energy-efficient technologies and practices, including renewable energy sources and carbon offsetting projects.
  • Lead client engagement and communication on energy and sustainability issues, providing support and guidance on the development of energy conservation projects and corporate sustainability initiatives.
  • Prepare regular progress reports on energy and sustainability performance, highlighting achievements and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Monitor relevant legislative, regulatory and industry developments to ensure compliance and inform energy and sustainability strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and subcontractors, to implement sustainable practices and improve overall environmental performance.
  • Manage the delivery and performance of energy and sustainability projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standards.
  • Prepare regular reports and updates on energy and sustainability performance, progress towards targets and recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training and capacity building initiatives to increase awareness and understanding of energy and sustainability issues among staff and clients.
  • Continuously review and update energy and sustainability policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with industry standards.

What we are looking for

    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Sustainability, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as an EHS and Sustainability Manager or in a similar role
    • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and sustainability practices
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with environmental performance data analysis and reporting
    • Knowledge of waste management regulations and practices
    • Familiarity with Net Zero strategies and decarbonisation plans
