Main Purpose of Role:
Within the boundaries of ESM Power agreed scope of works, to ensure that electrical equipment is commissioned in accordance with industry, DNO, manufacturer and regulatory requirements, is in a functional state and safe to energization, put into operational service and handed over to the client. All in accordance with agreed project timescales and budgets. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Overall responsibility for the successful commissioning of electrical systems up to and including 132kV, ensuring that agreed project milestones are achieved in accordance with budget.
2.
Liaison with the engineering team to ensure the implementation and adherence to the ESM Power Electrical Safe System of Work during commissioning and energisation phases.
3.
Reporting and Liaising with the Major Projects Operations Manager on upcoming projects and ongoing projects.
4.
Ensure the required tools and equipment are available to support commissioning activities, with the Commissioning Engineers appropriately trained and assessed as being competent to in the use of the equipment.
5.
Live reporting to project managers and project commissioning engineer during commissioning.
6.
Responsible for input to project programmes and monitoring of same throughout commissioning.
7.
Providing project overview and specification for commissioning at project kick off
8.
Managing commissioning team, ensuring adequate resources are available.
9.
Producing commissioning plans for each live scheme and managing the site-based activities against that programme.
10.
Producing Monthly reports detailing Commissioning progress on each scheme.
11.
Liaising with Business Development team to assist with estimates and tenders.
12.
Reviewing Subcontract orders and then managing delivery by selected subcontractors of for all commissioning activities.
13.
Managing competence and training for all commissioning engineers.
14.
DNO / NG / third party and customer liaison – Responsible for determining the scope of commissioning activities including across control boundaries.
15.
NERS processes – Ensure contestable works are commissioned in accordance with the relevant DNO policy and standards, including the witness of commissioning activities by the DNO where required. Job Context / Key Challenges: Working within the busy Major Projects Team reporting to the Operations Director, whilst working effectively to provide outstanding customer service to customers and key stakeholders. The postholder will have the ability to communicate at all levels and build strong, positive relationships with a number of internal and external stakeholders. The ability to communicate at all levels and build strong working relationships is therefore a key requirement of this role.

Safety: Lead by example on the construction and operational aspects of safety during all aspects of electrical commissioning activities.
Customer service: Delivering commissioning activities to internal and external customers in accordance with budget, project timeline and system requirements.
People: working with a number of internal and external stakeholders to include customers, contractors colleagues and presenting to clients of all levels. Qualifications and Experience:
The person carrying out this role is likely to be a highly mobile, motivated, experienced commercially orientated professional with a proven track record of supporting teams in a demanding customer-focused operational environment. The ability to work under pressure and achieve challenging deadlines is essential.
Excellent communicator at all levels with the ability to build good working relationships both within ESM Power and with external customers.
In addition, you will need to demonstrate:

Minimum Level 4 (HNC) Electrical Engineering Qualification – Degree level qualification desirable. Extensive experience in a similar level role may be considered.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel
•
5 Years Experience within a similar role.
•
Good written, verbal and presentation skills.
•
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to motivate staff.
