This role is part of Mitie's Facilities Management Sector, where we are committed to improving the lives of people across the UK by creating productive, safe, and dynamic working environments. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to take responsibility for the cleaning and servicing of designated areas, as assigned by the cleaning and management team. All duties must be carried out efficiently, professionally, and to the standards required by both the client and Mitie.
The main duties include carrying out all cleaning tasks as directed by the Team Leader or management team. All tasks must be performed in a professional manner, in accordance with safe systems of work and risk assessments. The correct personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times. Employees are expected to comply with all statutory Health and Safety regulations and Mitie's internal security policies relating to cleaning materials, equipment, and buildings. A high standard of personal performance, hygiene, and appearance is essential.

A cleaning schedule will be provided by the Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader, and all tasks must be completed accordingly.
COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) requirements must be strictly followed as directed. Any faults related to cleaning machinery or equipment must be reported to the Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader, and any building defects should be reported to the Mitie Helpdesk. Staff may also be asked to perform reasonable additional requests as directed by their supervisor. Near-miss incidents must be reported in line with procedure, and the employee absence reporting procedure must be followed when calling in sick.
In terms of person specification, previous cleaning experience is preferred. Candidates should be good team players with a flexible approach to the work environment, as they may be asked to provide cover in other areas when needed. Good proficiency in the English language is essential for understanding instructions, safety signage, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Health and Safety training. Applicants must be British citizens and will be required to obtain high-level security clearance before beginning the role.
