Building Maintenance Engineer (HandyMan) (74801)

We are looking for an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer with an Electrical bias to join us on a static site that provides a multi-skilled maintenance service.  Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (flexible) with one hour for lunch.
This covers electrical and mechanical disciplines and to provide a reactive and pro-active maintenance service as per project requirements to all operational equipment. 
You will be responsible for maintaining plant and equipment to optimize both reliability and maintainability. You will provide a service that ensures all key performance indicators are met and help supervise contractors where required. 
You will also need to complete any required log book paperwork and close out jobs using a handheld device.
You must complete tasks to a high standards and in line with current company policies and procedures and report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety, or the environment.  You will be responsible for ensuring your own work is completed in a safe and diligent manner.  
To be successful in this position you will need: 
•    NVQ Level 3 qualifications in Engineering Maintenance (Multi-discipline). 
•    17th/18th edition. 
•    Good knowledge of building statutory compliance. 
You will need to be responsible for themselves and others to maintain a safe working environment as per the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974). You need to be able to read and understand technical drawings, have good problem-solving and decision-making skills and be able to communicate effectively with both colleagues, client staff and any visitors or contractors
Suitable training may be given when needed to ensure that the candidate is competent to achieve the skills required. 
You will be required to attend call-outs on a rota basis.
The job is based at a Police Station therefore enhanced security vetting is required and it is not an immediate start.
