Job title: BIM Technician

Based from: Dronfield

Reports to: BIM Manager

Salary: Up to £42,000

 

The Role

As the BIM Technician you will join our busy BIM Team to support the BIM Manager with BIM co-ordination and producing CAD designs for complex fire, life safety, electronic security systems and network infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Producing and amending CAD Designs, Constructions and As Fitted models using Revit and AutoCAD software
  • Creating take offs from models and presenting this within an Excel spreadsheet
  • Designing life safety and security systems (with guidance from Design Engineers)
  • Creating schematics and electrical wiring diagrams as needed (with guidance from Design Engineers)
  • Exporting DWF and other formats for collaboration internally and externally
  • Taking an active role within the continuous improvement of company systems
  • Providing reports as appropriate to your Line Manager
  • Producing clash detection reports
  • Being involved in weekly BIM co-ordination meetings and actioning any issues
  • Maintaining weekly model uploads for the live project that is being worked on

Person Specification

Essential

  • Computer literate and proficient in all core Microsoft Office packages
  • Prior experience of Revit & AutoCAD software
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • To be honest, trustworthy and to maintain strict confidentiality in performing duties relating to finance and tenders
  • Ability to form good working relationships with colleagues, customers, and outside bodies
  • Ability to work using your own initiative

Desirable

  • Previous experience within a related field
  • Experience using AutoDesk Construction Cloud
  • Experience using Revit MEP
  • Proficiency in a European language is desirable but not essential

Working Conditions

The role is based in our Dronfield office, which is an open plan office environment with multi-screen computer use. On occasion the role may require you to attend our other offices.
